New York - High Line, NYC Assistant Director of Finance

      The Standard, High Line is seeking an Assistant Director, Finance to join our exceptional Finance team to help us hit crunch those numbers. This position will assist the Director of Finance in all aspects of the finance department and financial reporting for The Standard, High Line

       Duties and Responsibilities:

      • Create an environment of control and economic responsibility for the The Standard, High Line

      • Comply with all statutory requirements and adhere to the Company’s accounting policies and requirements.

      • Ascertain efficient and effective utilization of the hotel's financial resources and work with Finance superiors to establish proper systems & controls.

      • Update the books and records in an accurate and timely manner.

      • Supervise and be accountable for the following functions: accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll.

      • Implement & maintain proper internal control procedures.

      • Compile and monitor operating budget.

      • Achieve maximum contributions and cooperation from Department Heads with regards to cost control.

      • Schedule, hire and train all accounting personnel.

      • Assist with other Accounting job functions as assigned.


      Qualifications, Knowledge and Skills:

      • At least 3 years of experience as a hotel Assistant Controller required

      • Minimum of high school diploma required. College degree in Accounting preferred

      • Compute accurate mathematical calculations

      • Strong verbal and written communication skills in English

      • Flexibility to work a varied schedule, which may include weekends and holidays

      Ability to:

      • perform job functions with attention to detail, speed and accuracy

      • to be a clear thinker, remaining calm and resolving problems using good judgement

      • follow directions thoroughly

      • work cohesively with co-workers as part of a team

      • work with minimal supervision

      • maintain confidentiality of financial information and pertinent hotel data

      Physical Requirements:

      •  Move, lift, carry, push, pull, and place objects weighing 15 lbs. without assistance.

      •  Requires grasping, writing, standing, sitting, walking, repetitive motions, bending, climbing, listening and hearing ability and visual acuity.

      •  Stand, sit, or walk for an extended period of time or for an entire work shift.

      • Reach overhead and below the knees, including bending, twisting, pulling, and stooping.

      • Remain in stationary position for extended periods of time.
