Assistant Director of Sales · London Base + International Travel · £60,000-65K + 20% Bonus & Benefits

We're looking for you London!

The Standard is one of the most culturally engaged hotels in the world. Hotels with real cultural life, an inclusive spirit and true creative attitude. A destination layered with events and amusements that leaves you with an uplifted feeling...

At the cultural heart-beat of The Standard are our team who bring to life our spaces, engage with our guests and vibrate social energy, day and night across our numerous bars, restaurants, event and guest spaces. Here at The Standard, we take a slightly different approach to our people and look far and wide for individuals that bring a unique perspective with them to our team (not a 5 page CV). We do not ask you to conform, read from a script or follow the rules (ok sometimes there are rules) but not when it comes down to you being able to express yourself or celebrate your individuality.

We are defined by our richness of personality, diversity of background and lifestyle and are now looking for an Assistant Director of Sales who will embody our ‘Anything but Standard’ ethos.

Your role

As our Assistant Director of Sales, you will work in partnership with our Director of Sales and Global Sales teams to oversee our sales team and function in London. You will support the management of a small team of Sales managers, deputising in the absence of the Director of Sales; and be responsible for coaching and developing to ensure their targets are met and in line with the hotels’ wider sales objectives & strategies to maximize revenue across all market segments.

You will also personally be responsible for a number of our key accounts within the hotel. This will include the management of our sales tracking systems, databases and the production of weekly and monthly sales reports. You will also support the annual RFP process on-behalf of the hotel. Over the longer term you will play a key role in defining our revenue and sales budget with our Director of Sales and Director of Revenue and implement the annual sales plan and strategy through our sales team across all market segments in order to increase market share, average rate and RevPAR. You will also work closely with both the Revenue & Marketing Directors in the creation of promotions and packages to support transient and direct sales in order to achieve our monthly revenue forecasts.

As one of our senior sales leads on property, you will of course meet and entertain our key VIP clients, partners and travel managers, through individual dinners, or larger fam-trips which will allow you to showcase our property.

Your role will involve international travel in order to develop key markets; from within the UK, Europe and USA. This may include roadshows, sales calls and international travel trade fairs to promote not only The Standard, London but also our wider group. As we continue to expand our brand within Europe you will help develop our wider sales and business development strategy within the region to target key accounts travelling inbound to London along with future pan-European business leads for all Standard properties.

This is not a ‘Standard’ Assistant Director of Sales position so you will need to have miles and miles of personality and stamina, be highly social, upbeat and friendly; confident and can handle pressure well; thrive in a high-volume, high-energy environment and able to work equally well both independently and as part of a team.
