Blu Jemz by Emily Kapsner
33hz: Stephanie All Night (Whatever/Whatever Remix) (Dither Down)
Blu Jemz: Dither Down is one of our favorite NYC labels (maybe because they put out records from both Eli & Lloyd las year). On this release 33hz get's the remix treatment by another one of our favorites, NYC's Whatever/Whatever aka Justin Strauss & Bryan Mette. Everything falls into place perfectly, from the heavy percussion to the light touch of there vocals. Good one for opening up the dance floor.
Detroit Swindle Guess What (Original Mix)
Eli Escobar: It's weird when European artists use American cities in their names but whatever this track bangs. Over used Loleatta vocal samples are always fine with me.
Justin Martin: Ghettos and Gardens (Claude VonStroke Beverly Hills Coyote Mix) (Dirty Bird)
Jemz: Justin Martin's Ghetto and Gardens LP was a big deal last year. The always excellent Dirty Bird Records released this track in the second volume of remixes from the album at very end of 2012. It's such a banger I have a feeling i'll be playing it every Saturday for the majority of 2013.
Golden Bug: One Way (Copycat & Martin Brodin Remix) (La Belle)
Jemz: I had to include one Italo track in this chart and this one easily is the best I've come across lately. I'm a sucker for anyone who puts house keys over an arpeggiator and makes it work. The original version by Golden Bug has been doing well for me too, early on in the night.
Nick Curly - Underground (Dennis Ferrer Remix)
Eli: This Nick Curly remix by Dennis Ferrer has been killing over the last month at Night People.
Legowelt Rave Till Dawn
Eli: Legowelt always kills it. Sometimes his music can be too esoteric for club play but he nails it here.
