Le Bain

Back on Top!

Before Susanne Bartsch's weekly party, On Top, is back Tuesday, May 16th at Le Bain, its regular DJs share their anthems for the extravaganza to come!
ZAZAZA DISCO:
"Like Some Dream I Can't Stop Dreaming" by Daniel Wang (Balihu Records) has always been one of my favorite dance tracks. I remember feeling completely transported the first time I heard it on the dance floor. The bizarre, spacey disco elements transport you to a discotheque fantasy fit for the glamorous set that frequents Susanne Bartsch’s On Top weekly summer soirée. Striking the perfect balance and staying in tune with cosmic disco that you can get lost in, twirl on the dance floor, strut around, or sip champagne to.

"All-night passion gets me through the day..."

W. JEREMY:
My anthem for On Top this year is Alisha's "All Night Passion.  We definitely need more freestyle records played, and this mid '80s jam is sprinkled with electro elements of the '70s along with a snare-dictated beat and longing lyrics, such as, "All-night passion gets me through the day," much like the chic mid-week vibe On Top is giving people to get them through the week!
TOM PETERS:
Definitely, "O Superman" by Laurie Anderson (M. Giordani's Disco Spacer Mix). I already loved the original from 1981 and the mix from Booka Shade & M.A.N.D.Y. from 2005. When my friend Olaf send me the new Disco Space Mix, it brought back a lot of great memories. That's why it will be my On Top 2017 anthem. It got the disco synth vibe combined with a dreamy twist!
ELI ESCOBAR:
It's hard to know what the song of 2017 will be since the season hasn't started up yet, so I'll pick a classic that I've played a lot at On Top and will most certainly play again this summer: Donna Summer's "Could It Be Magic"! I always play this at about 3:45AM when everyone's inhibitions have been completely let free. It might be a hard sell at any other time of the night because it is so lush and romantic. But when it works, it sounds like music from the heavens! There's always an awesome age range at On Top as well, so a lot of people there really know the song. It's the absolute best!
