Inside the Met Gala Afterparty With Kelela, A$AP Rocky & More

On the first Monday in May, all roads lead to Boom.

Perched on the eighteenth floor of The Standard, High Line, last night’s Met Gala after party unfolded like a scene from a future Devil Wears Prada sequel, hosted by Gabriela HearstGrace Gummer, and Yola Mezcal. At the center of it all, Kelela cast a spell on the room, turning her performance on top of the bar into one of those major, only-at-Boom moments.

"I wore a knitted dress, because I knew I was going to go straight from the Met Gala to the after party, because I wanted to dance,” Gabriela told WWD.

Fresh from the Costume Institute gala, guests arrived in a mix of second looks and straight-off-the-carpet ensembles celebrating the many intersections of art and fashion. Behind the decks, Samantha Ronson, Questlove and Stretch Armstrong set the tone. As always, music, fashion, and culture collided, with a guest list that read like a roll call of who's who in 2026. A$AP Rocky and Janelle Monáe moved through the crowd alongside supermodel Coco Rocha, newly minted Tony nominee Luke Evans, Tommy Dorfman, and Christian Siriano. Fashion fixtures like Ella Emhoff, Tina Leung, Annabelle Dexter-Jones, and Charlotte Tilbury added style to the mix, alongside Misty Copeland, True Whitaker, and Lindsey Vonn.

"The glittering Art Deco interior has made Boom one of New York's most storied spaces, paired with unrivaled views of downtown Manhattan," wrote Vogue. "Mood lighting, a sunken bar serving mezcalitas and mezcal martinis, and a buzzing playlist set the scene for a night to remember."

Year after year, there simply isn't a party like this one.
