When Marc Jacobs' JOY Met Sofia Coppola's Fairyland

We kicked off October with a little JOY, courtesy of Marc Jacobs.

The Standard Soda Shop at The Standard, High Line has a JOY-ful new look for the new season. Our friends at Marc Jacobs brought their immersive ode to happiness to The Meatpacking District, with a party to celebrate. The designer's pal Sofia Coppola joined the festivities following the NYC premiere of the new film Fairyland, directed by Andrew Durham (produced by Sofia)a tender father-daughter story set within San Francisco’s queer history. The night blended a few of our favorite things: fashion, film, and a touch of fantasy.

After the screening, guests made their way downtown to step inside the retro dreamscape and toast the occasion with cocktails and light bites. Sofia was joined by Fairyland star Emilia Jones, plus Adam Lambert, Scoot McNairy, Dascha Polanco, and Derrick Adams. The director/producer's daughter Romy Mars—who seems to go more viral by the day—was in tow.

Guests sampled playful culinary creations, snapped photos against our JOY-infused backdrop, got a first look at colorful Moleskin accessories and toasted the film’s debut. For a fall Thursday in NYC, you can't do much better than that.

The Marc Jacobs JOY Soda Shop will run for a limited time at the hotel, offering guests the chance to experience Jacobs’ vision of optimism in fizzy, flavorful form. In The Shop at The Standard, High Line, a JOY-fueled takeover is all yours to explore.

Here's a peek at the evening...
