In mid-April, Sweeties hosted a secret jazz jam in association with Kamasi Washington and YOUNG. Guests arrived unaware of the stellar lineup of players, only to step into an unforgettable evening featuring some of London’s finest jazz talent.

The evening featured a curated band of some of London’s most talented and revered jazz musicians:

About Kamasi Washington
Kamasi Washington is an American jazz saxophonist, composer, and bandleader known for his expansive, genre-blending style. Born in Los Angeles, California, Washington gained widespread recognition with his 2015 debut album The Epic, a three-hour opus that fused jazz with elements of funk, soul, classical, and hip-hop. A key collaborator with artists like Kendrick Lamar (To Pimp a Butterfly), Flying Lotus, and Thundercat, he is celebrated for revitalizing contemporary jazz and making it accessible to a broader audience. Washington's work often explores themes of spirituality, Black identity, and social justice.

YOUNG is a London-based record label, creative studio, and management company known for its forward-thinking roster and refined aesthetic. Founded in 2006 as an imprint of XL Recordings, YOUNG has become a home for genre-defying artists like The xx, FKA twigs, Sampha, and Jamie xx. The label is celebrated for nurturing deeply personal, boundary-pushing music and for its close-knit, artist-first approach.
