December ushers in one of the most momentous shifts in the celestial skies from which, at last, the light will begin to emerge. While this year has challenged us on every level, imaginable and unimaginable, it has taught us patience, endurance, resiliency, and the ability to keep the faith in the darkest of hours. While Pluto and Saturn in Capricorn revealed America's dark side—from systemic racism and sexism to inequality, greed, and cruelty, the positive side of this is that 80 million people voted for integrity and morality. Democracy was saved at the eleventh hour and we have so much for which to be grateful.

As we move into the last month of 2020, we are rapidly shedding the past and entering a new paradigm. We have a new moon solar eclipse in Sagittarius on December 14th. Eclipses signal times of change in the world and in our lives. They are new beginnings and bring about significant endings. This potent eclipse occurs on the same day as the Electoral College meets, resolving any ambiguity that Joseph R. Biden, Jr. is our rightful president-elect, signifying an auspicious start of a new beginning and the end of Trump’s official @POTUS Twitter account, but unfortunately not his propagandist personal one. Unfollow and ignore, because he’s still going to be making a lot of noise during the new administration and we have no time for that.

It’s time for collective healing, during which time, perhaps we all become kinder, more compassionate, and embark upon positive new pathways.

The Great Conjunction is the mighty astrological event that occurs every 20 years, with Jupiter and Saturn's conjunction in progressive Aquarius on December 21st. This is one of the most epic astrological events to live through because it is the first time in 200 years that these two planets will make a conjuncture in a new element, air, which marks the beginnings of a new 200 year cycle. Falling on the Winter Solstice, a pivotal day for transformation, with the shortest day and the longest night, this welcome astrological event invites humanity to move out of the darkness and into the light. This alignment is a reboot, releasing the old geopolitical systems and introducing new ones; hashtag Biden Harris to save America.

Aquarius is the sign of humanity, technology, innovation, personal freedom, and rebellion. In our personal lives, it is an opportunity to feel freer and to live a more authentic experience. While Saturn reigns us in, Jupiter opens doors to opportunities with the two balancing each other out. As we enter into this new energy, it is time to restart after a dark, tumultuous chapter in our history. Not only can we redeem these experiences of pain, but we can also grow together in higher consciousness and support the evolution of humanity. This radical redemption illustrates the beauty of life.

What, exactly, did we learn from 2020? Pope Francis said it best: “To come out of this pandemic better than we went into, we must let ourselves be touched by others' pain." It’s time for collective healing, during which time, perhaps we all become kinder, more compassionate, and embark upon positive new pathways.

I wish all of you the happiest and healthiest of holidays, and may you reflect upon how you personally can emerge to begin anew. Good riddance to 45, and to 2020!
