Q&A

After Dark Confessions with Flo Windey

Confessions hit differently after dark. Especially when the rules are loose and honesty feels just enough to be exciting.

Belgium-based, Flo Windey has built a reputation for her sharp humour and her ability to turn any room into a living space. A natural on the mic, she knows how to stir the energy and make people feel bold enough to play along.

For Valentine's, The Standard, Brussels hands her the mic for Confessions Bingo - a night where secrets are currency and oversharing is part of the game.

Consider this Q&A a warm-up round: a chance to get to know Flo Windey before she gets to know a little bit too much about you.

Let’s warm thing’s up gently — what’s the most harmless secret you’ve ever kept for way too long?

I’m generally really good at keeping secrets. Mostly because I forget things. The last secret I was in on, was my friend getting engaged!

In the age of TikTok and podcasts, everyone seems to confess everything. What do you still refuse to share with the world?

My love life. That’s nobody’s business.

Have you ever written a message you never dared to send — and if yes, do you still have it somewhere?

I have. It’s somewhere in my notes app. Sometimes it’s a good thing to write down how you feel, however sometimes it’s better to have some self respect and leave it.

They say nothing good ever happens after 2 am. What’s the most dangerous text you’ve ever almost sent in the early hours?

I always send the risky text at 2am. Probably because the nature of it is something amongst the lines of “Let’s hit up the karaoke bar.”

If your Spotify Wrapped was public for one day… what guilty pleasure be the most suprising revelation?

No guilty pleasure, however Rock DJ by Robbie Williams is in my top 20. What can I say? It’s a great way to start your day.

If Confessions Bingo asked you to reveal one real secret on stage, what topic would you absolutely avoid?

My ex-lovers. No need to give them the light of day.

What’s a red flag you secretly find attractive?

I don’t have time for red flags. (When they exude golden retriever energy but behave like a rat.)

Have you ever flirted your way into (or out of) a situation you’d rather not explain?

If you haven’t, you aren’t putting your talents to good use. Haha!

Are we better at confessing online than in real life? And what does that say about intimacy today?

I think online creates another sense of intimacy. But honest intimacy is when you can connect in real life. There’s more emotional distance online.

Complete this sentence honestly: “Never have I ever…”

“Never have I ever… cooked a three course meal.”

On 13 February, spice up your Valentine's night and join Flo Windey for Confessions Bingo, where numbers are swapped for "Never Have I ever" confessions.
