Paymaster and General Cashier

Job Purpose:

Paymaster / General Cashier of The Standard, Bangkok Mahanakhon oversees the payroll and cashier section and is responsible for the performance of the section in all phases of service and job functions. This role is responsible for all functions of the payroll and cashier, in accordance with hotel standards. The Paymaster meets regularly with managers and coordinators to determine personnel needs.


Duties and Responsibilities:

·         Maintain effective communication and relations with managers and supervisors.

·         Evaluate effectiveness of paymaster and general cashier function.

·         To collect and count the income of Cash & Cheque, transmit from cashier envelopes, and make bank deposit daily.

·         To check the Money Exchange, Voucher and compare with bank rate and make daily bank deposit for foreign currency profit.

·         To provide all cashier daily change for F/O and Restaurant cashier, including extra change for long weekends and special occasions.

·         To response for petty cash process.

·         To prepare payroll payment on a timely basis.

·         To ensure the process of Print out of payroll slip and pass to Staffs as per schedule.

·         To process ExPat package with properly document and co-ordinate with legal entity.

·         To fill the requisition tax ID. Number form of staff and submit to the Tax Department.

·         To prepare a list of salary increase list form Human Resources department and ready for payroll process.

·         To prepared statement of staff reconciliation report.

·         To ensure that payroll and general cashier process are properly conduct as per policy and procedure.

·         Reports: Ensure all bi-weekly/monthly/quarterly reports are sent regularly and in a timely manner.

·         File maintenance: Maintain and keep all financial file ensuring compliance with the local and federal laws.

·         Adhoc as assigned by Finance Manager.

Qualifications, Knowledge and Skills:

·         Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university

·         Three (3) or more years of experience in Paymaster and General Cashier function

·         Knowledge of government labor regulations

·         Strong verbal and written communication skills in English. Multilingual is a plus but not required

·         Satisfactorily communicate with guests, employees and management to their understanding.

·         Proficiency with computers

·         Ability to multitask, work independently and to partner with others to promote an environment of teamwork.
