Duty Engineer
Job Purpose:
Keep all equipment in good repair with a minimum of downtime by providing day-to-day maintenance of the hotel. And to Complete maintenance work orders from all departments on a timely basis by following hotels standard operating procedures. Continually work towards and support the improvement of engineering service to guests, other departments, and fellow staffs.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- To responsible for the implementation of polices & procedures as follows: preventive maintenance program, fire & life safety program, work request program, energy conservation program, safety tag program, water treatment program, training program for associates directly under his supervision, parts and materials control, physical security program
- To ensure the correct, efficient and timely operation and maintenance of all M&E services. To provide technical support and to lead and supervise in fault diagnosis and trouble shooting.
- To make daily, weekly and monthly work assignment as regards to repairs and preventive maintenance and to follow through until work is completed in a satisfactory manner.
- Constantly determines opportunity for improving productivity and quality from associates in term of utilization, methods and performance.
- Constantly evaluate the systems, plants operation for modification and improvement.
- To develop preventive maintenance schedule plan and requirement based on labor availability, business cycle, seasonal considerations, code requirement, etc
To establish priorities of preventive maintenance based on factors such as importance of equipment/system to business or operation, repair or replacement cost, safety factor, recent repair history, etc.
To update preventive maintenance tasks, frequencies, labor & material estimates, special conditions, etc.
Comply with all corporate and Hotel Standards and Procedures
Ensure compliance with legislated heath and safety requirements within the workplace.
To maintain professional and cooperative relationships with other operating department and all associates within engineering department.
To perform all other duties as may be assigned by the Chief engineer.
To ensure that all established rules, regulations, p& p are strictly adhered to.
To assist the executive assistance in store management and inventory control. To involve in parts, materials sourcing and quality checking.
To perform emergency duties as per outline in the hotel emergency procedure.
To assist in coordinating and execution of special projects and contractual work.
To determine materials availability for preventive maintenance with sufficient lead-time for acquisition.
Qualifications, Knowledge and Skills:
- Minimum of 2 years experience as Technician
- Effective communication skill
- Teamwork
- Ability to work under pressure
- Time management
Physical Requirements:
- Move, lift, carry, push, pull, and place objects weighing X lbs. without assistance
- Requires grasping, writing, standing, sitting, walking, repetitive motions, bending, climbing, listening and hearing ability and visual acuity
- Stand, sit, or walk for an extended period of time or for an entire work shift
- Reach overhead and below the knees, including bending, twisting, pulling, and stooping
- Remain in stationary position for extended periods of time
