Party Patrol: Mexico City Art Week x Casa Gálvez

Mexico City, here we come.
If you haven't heard, The Standard is landing in Mexico City this year—right in the heart of Tabacalera. We can't wait to share our first Latin American hotel with you—and we couldn't wait to get a taste of Mexico City Art Week.

That got us thinking—what about a low-key afternnon in Chimalistac? We hosted the event at Casa Gálvez, one of the most rarely seen homes by Luis Barragán. Removed from the frenzy of Zona Maco and those elbow-to-elbow gallery openings, the Casa offered something more thoughtful: a hidden gem of CDMX architecture. (Barragán’s work has a way of starting conversations.)

We mingled with friends old and new in the garden: Furnishings by Clásicos Mexicanos brought the house to life. Cantina El Bosque prepared a menu that nodded to tradition. Cocktails were poured with 1800. The house did the rest.
