OKHA Bookclub Presents: 'Take My Hand'

OKHA is a book club for queer and Black fam primarily, where the focus is on literature, poetry, and plays by African, Caribbean & Afro-Latinx authors.

This month's read is by American writer Dolen Perkins Valdez who is best known for her bestselling novel 'Wench: A Novel' and her work as Chair of the Board of PEN/Faulkner Foundation Board of Directors. We'll be taking a deep dive into her newest novel 'Take My Hand,' inspired by true events and a shocking chapter of American history.

The evening will also feature a Q&A with Dolen Perkins-Valdez, where the audience will be able to hear firsthand her inspiration, hopes and aspirations for this book.
