Double Standard
Sunday 5 March
6pm til 8pm

Life Drawing with East London Strippers Collective will take place following a talk in The Library Lounge by the Collective about their history, the struggles they face and their aims and ambitions.

ELSC Life Drawing class references the rich history of artists musing upon their nude models: dancers, strip-tease artists, lovers and sex-workers to create works of art. Expect high-octane pole tricks, sultry striptease, floor-work, freestyle and some surprise audience participation to enrich your life drawing experience.

Materials are included with your ticket. All levels of experience are welcome.

ELSC are a collective of strippers working to smash stigma, fighting for better working conditions and repackaging our erotic labour to provide meaningful employment to our community.  We are committed to supporting and promoting self-organisation among strippers, challenging stigma around sex work, standing up to exploitation and fighting for improved safety and harm-reduction in the wider sex industry.

ELSC are dedicated to building worker-led strategies, creating opportunities and growth for performers outside of the exploitative business model of a regular strip club. Since 2014, ELSC have grown a viable and sustainable business that is run entirely by dancers/ex-dancers themselves. From pop-up strip club parties, to public talks, art exhibitions and life drawing classes, ELSC remain an autonomous organisation in charge of creating their own working conditions and supporting members of their community.

Join ELSC in the Women's March led by sex workers and migrant women in solidarity with the global Women's Strike on 8 March 2023.
