F&B Director

Opened since May 2025, The Standard, Brussels marks the hotel brand’s third outpost in Europe. Set in the city’s Northern Quarter, The Standard, Brussels brings the brand’s design, culture and activation-driven philosophy to Belgium.

With 180 guestrooms (plus 20 residences), the modern, new-build project features many stages for The Standard’s renowned day- and nightlife. A ground-floor greenhouse welcomes guests and locals into the lobby lounge, restaurant, and terrace. Upstairs, The Rooftop features its own restaurant, bar and garden, set to become a neighbourhood destination. Throughout the building, additional public and private event spaces are platforms for happenings.

The Standard, Brussels is welcoming a new set of creative, dynamic guests into the brand ethos. In Brussels, The Standard’s signature mix of playful, sophisticated, unexpected hospitality finds roots and resonances in local culture.

The simple premise behind The Standard is that it is anything but. Founded in 1999, the goals of every Standard are to up the aesthetic stakes and defy convention while attending to every detail, embracing our local communities, providing a welcoming and inclusive environment for our teams and, of course, delivering a smashing good time for our guests.

Your role

As Food & Beverage Director, you will be a key member of the hotel’s Executive Team and hold full strategic and operational responsibility for the Food & Beverage division. You will lead, inspire, and direct all F&B operations, ensuring exceptional guest experiences, strong financial performance, and consistent alignment with The Standard’s brand standards and creative vision.

You will oversee the end-to-end management of all restaurants, bars, banqueting, and events, setting the overall direction while remaining hands-on and highly visible within the operation. You will ensure that service quality, product consistency, and guest satisfaction are delivered at the highest level, while driving profitability and maintaining tight control over budgets, forecasts, and performance indicators.

You will be accountable for all operational standards, including the execution of Banquet Event Orders (BEOs), service delivery, menu quality, and cost management. Proactively identifying guest needs, you will manage feedback and resolve issues swiftly and professionally, ensuring a seamless and memorable guest journey across all F&B touchpoints.

As a senior leader, you will build, lead, and develop a high-performing management team, including Restaurant Managers and the Assistant F&B Director. You will oversee recruitment, onboarding, training, succession planning, and performance management, conducting regular reviews and annual appraisals. You will foster a culture of collaboration, accountability, creativity, and versatility, encouraging open communication and strong cross-departmental relationships.

Working in close partnership with the Executive Chef, you will define and execute the overall F&B strategy, ensuring culinary and beverage concepts remain innovative, relevant, and commercially successful. You will ensure strict compliance with all hygiene, health, and safety regulations, with particular focus on HACCP standards.

You will take ownership of financial performance, closely monitoring payroll, food cost, beverage cost, revenue streams, and productivity metrics. You will analyze results, prepare detailed management and variance reports, and implement corrective actions and improvement plans where required. You will represent the F&B division in executive and service meetings and play an active role in high-level decision-making for the hotel.

This is not a standard F&B Director role. You will need exceptional personality, resilience, and stamina. You are highly social, confident, and charismatic; comfortable in a high-volume, high-energy lifestyle environment; and equally effective strategically and operationally. You lead from the front, thrive under pressure, and are passionate about people, service, and creating unforgettable experiences.
