Room Attendant
Job Purpose:
As Housekeeping Room Attendant your role is to maintain the cleanliness and good order of all guest rooms and public areas, creating a warm and friendly environment for our guests. You will also ensure the appropriate level of security for all guest belongings to create a feeling of comfort and confidence for guests. With the overall responsibility for a dedicated number of our guest bedrooms you will ensure that they are clean and well maintained on a daily basis, replenishing guests supplies and amenities as required and for staging each room appropriately for your next guest’s arrival.
Basic Function:
- Develop your knowledge of the bespoke architectural materials within guest rooms and public areas, ensuring you are aware of any special cleaning or maintenance procedures to showcase these features at their very best
- Greet and welcome all guests you meet in guest corridors, ensuring that guest etiquette standards are maintained within your designated section in order to deliver a truly world class service experience
- Report any maintenance faults through Hotel management software or via the housekeeping coordinator owning jobs to ensure they are followed up and actioned within designated time frames by the relevant person
- Support other areas of the housekeeping team to develop a culture of lateral service, going the extra mile and ensuring the very best level of hospitality for our guests
- Participate in weekly and deep cleaning schedules within your section in order to maintain a high level of cleanliness throughout all guest and back of house areas, ensuring daily and weekly checklists are completed
- Maintain a continual check on stock levels and adhere to effective stock rotation procedures in order to minimise wastage
- Understand the importance of following the correct procedures in relation to the care of fixtures, fittings and linen and the use of cleaning supplies and amenities etc.to minimise costs
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Receive work assignment, keys and supplies from the supervisor and sign the key log book accurately
- Clean rooms and bathrooms, performing any combination of the following duties
- Keep fire exits and stair ways clear of any obstruction
- Check and report any maintenance work required immediately
- Pick up any litter from corridors and pathways
- Vacuum carpet and upholstered furniture, dust and wipe furniture, empty ashtrays and wastebaskets
- Make bed, wash sink, bathtub, toilet, tiles, mirrors and floor and polish brass and metal
- Replenish bathroom supplies and room supplies
- Tidy and arrange neatly guest toilet articles on vanity top and spot cleans carpet when necessary
- Clean and keep the guest corridors, service pantries and service areas neat and tidy at all times
- Remove Room Service tray and trolley from guestroom and corridors
- Inform valet service to collect guests clothes for laundry, dry cleaning or pressing services
- Report damagething’s to Floor supervisor and Manerger
- Checking the minibar and infromed to minibar attendant to refile
