Pool Runner
The Pool Runner (Food Runner) is responsible for delivering a seamless, high-energy poolside dining experience by ensuring food is delivered quickly, accurately, and with attention to presentation. This role acts as the critical link between the kitchen and service team, supporting timing, communication, and overall flow of service.
Working in a fast-paced outdoor environment, the Pool Runner helps maintain the rhythm of service, ensuring every dish arrives as intended and every table remains clean, organized, and guest-ready.
- Deliver food from the kitchen to poolside guests efficiently, accurately, and with proper presentation.
- Ensure all dishes are complete, correct, and meet quality standards before leaving the kitchen.
- Work closely with kitchen and service teams to maintain proper timing and flow of service.
- Act as a liaison between kitchen and servers, communicating special requests, allergies, and updates.
- Describe menu items to guests when delivering food, ensuring a polished and informed presentation.
- Maintain guest tables to The Standard’s service expectations, ensuring cleanliness and organization at all times.
- Assist in setting and resetting tables with napkins, condiments, and other service items.
- Anticipate guest needs and support servers in delivering a seamless experience.
- Ensure trays and service tools are clean, organized, and ready for use.
- Set up and break down the expediting station in the kitchen.
- Polish silverware, glassware, and maintain cleanliness of service stations throughout service.
- Assist with stocking and maintaining service areas.
- Follow all opening, running, and closing side work procedures.
- Maintain awareness of menu items, specials, and 86 lists.
- Perform additional duties as assigned by management.
- Maintain high standards of hygiene, grooming, and uniform presentation.
- Follow all food safety, sanitation, and safety procedures in accordance with company policies.
- Uphold The Standard’s service style, consistent, attentive, and guest-focused.
- Identify and report any operational or guest-related concerns to management.
- Previous food runner, busser, or hospitality experience preferred.
- Strong communication and teamwork skills.
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced, high-volume environment.
- Strong attention to detail and sense of urgency.
- Ability to follow instructions and adhere to service standards.
- Basic knowledge of food and beverage operations preferred.
- Food safety certification required (or ability to obtain).
- Fluent in English; additional languages are a plus.

- Ability to stand and walk continuously for extended periods (8+ hours).

- Ability to work in confined spaces with varying temperatures and conditions.
