The Pool Runner is responsible for supporting the food and beverage team by delivering food accurately, efficiently, and with exceptional attention to presentation throughout the pool deck. Working closely with the kitchen, servers, bartenders, and management team, this position ensures timely service while maintaining The Standard's elevated hospitality and service standards.
The Pool Runner helps create a seamless dining experience by maintaining communication between the kitchen and service team, assisting with table maintenance, and ensuring service stations remain organized and fully stocked.
- Deliver food from the kitchen to guests promptly while maintaining proper presentation and food quality.
- Verify all food orders for accuracy before leaving the kitchen.
- Present dishes professionally and describe menu items when appropriate.
- Ensure food is delivered according to established service standards.
- Assist guests courteously and respond promptly to requests.
- Communicate guest needs, allergies, and special requests to servers and kitchen staff.
- Maintain constant communication between the kitchen and service staff regarding food timing and order status.
- Set up and break down the kitchen expediting station.
- Assist servers with table maintenance throughout service.
- Clear plates, glassware, and service items as needed.
- Support overall flow of service during peak business periods.
- Assist with opening and closing side work.
- Polish silverware, glassware, and service equipment.
- Set tables with napkins, condiments, and other dining essentials.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of service stations.
- Ensure all service areas remain stocked throughout the shift.
- Maintain cleanliness of the pool dining environment.
- Work collaboratively with servers, bartenders, hosts, kitchen staff, and management.
- Support teammates during busy periods to ensure smooth operations.
- Maintain a positive, energetic, and professional attitude.
- Represent The Standard's service culture through every guest interaction.
- Follow all company policies, SOPs, and service standards.
- Adhere to food safety, sanitation, and workplace safety procedures.
- Maintain professional appearance and grooming standards.
- Report maintenance, safety, or operational concerns to management.
- Previous restaurant, food runner, or hospitality experience preferred.
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
- Ability to work efficiently in a high-volume, fast-paced environment.
- Strong organizational and multitasking abilities.
- Positive attitude with a guest-first mindset.
- Ability to remain calm under pressure.
- Fluent in English; Spanish preferred.
