This New Year's Eve, we're excited to team up with our good friends Total Refreshment Centre to present an evening of musical delights featuring Fimber Bravo live plus guest DJs Charlie Dark, Laani & Lex Blondin and Room 2 (Double Standard) hosted by Voices Radio.

Fimber Bravo is one of the most influential exponents of cutting-edge steel pan in contemporary music: blasting it in the black power protests of his native Trinidad in the late 60’s; in fusion with West African stars in the 70’s, 80’s & 90s; and integrating them in left field improvisations with Western pop and electronic sounds today.

Charlie Dark is a DJ and broadcaster and one of London’s most revered selectors and inspirational figureheads. From being a part of 90s trippy soul sensations Attica Blues, to creating groundbreaking London night Blacktronica, to more recently creating running collective Run Dem Crew, Dark’s credentials know no bounds.

Laani is a DJ whose sound fuses a nu jazz, neo-soul, afro riddims, broken beat & house to create an uniquely eclectic style. Her skills as a selector, radio presenter, programmer and curator & her day job as Marketing Manager at Strut Records and formerly Brownswood has lead her to be a well loved personality on the live and club music scene.

Voices Radio is a brand-new radio station for the KX community and beyond. Committed to inclusivity and diversity in all its forms, the radio features a mix of interesting discussion and music genres. Our studio is open from 11am to 11pm Tuesday through to Sunday. They’ll be hosting Double Standard inviting a number of their core collective to play back to back; Tiffany Lai b2b Quinn, Hemlin b2b Kit Lockey, Giasten b2b Giddy.

This event is presented in collaboration with one of London’s most important music communities: Total Refreshment Centre. With whom, we are pleased to be celebrating New Year with another free entry live music event in The Library Lounge at The Standard, London. The mastermind behind Total Refreshment Centre, a fantastic DJ in his own right, Lex Blondin will be DJing and hosting.
