NEW YORK

Crowd #3 (Pelican Beach), 2013

Alex Prager creates familiar yet strange scenes, using the collective emotions of crowds, and hundreds of actors whose characters, hairstyles, clothing, and poses are each meticulously planned. A sense of timelessness exists due to the ambiguity of era and location, though cultural references from classic Hollywood cinema abound. This exhibit is Prager's debut show since joining Lehmann Maupin gallery in September 2013.
