TheirStories Pride Special: With Jake Shears

TheirStories Pride Special: With Jake Shears

We’re going all out for Pride at The Standard, London, with a special intimate Q&A with singer, songwriter, actor, and writer Jake Shears.

TheirStories is a monthly series of intergenerational LGBTQ+ conversations, hosted in the surroundings of The Library Lounge at The Standard, London and curated by Laurie Belgrave, founder of The Chateau. Seeking to investigate, celebrate and uplift the diverse narratives and stories of London’s vibrant LGBTIQA+ community, with intergenerational talks, performances, cultural moments and music. It is a meeting point and platform for knowledge exchange between generations of queer creatives, artists & humxns.

Best known as the lead singer of the multiplatinum-selling, Grammy-nominated, Brit award-winning glam rock band Scissor Sisters, Jake will be delving into a live conversation with Laurie discussing working alongside Elton John, growing up with Seattle and being on Broadway. Followed by a unique performance by pianist, and London drag royalty Barbs, this one-night-only event is one not to miss.

Friday 30 June

6pm til 8pm

An optional £1 charity donation will be added to all bills throughout the month of June to support Not A Phase; uplifting the lives of trans+ adults across the UK
