To Do

The Oasis of Art Basel Lives On

Amid the rush of Art Basel Miami Beach – the artists, art dealers, scenesters, and billionaire buyers - is a diamond on the shores of Biscayne Bay. Always shining, The Standard is (and will always be) an oasis for a family of artists, fashionistas, and foremost, our fascinating friends. We don't place glitzy new cars in our lobby or rent out our pool deck to unsavory characters. What we're saying is, you CAN sit with us - and we hope you will.

If you're sitting around the Fire Pit, prepare to encounter Intervention, a crocheted wonderland by OLEK NYC who has magically (and with painstakingly diligent work) created an overgrown garden of crocheted art. OLEK’s work blurs the boundaries of fashion, fine art, craft, and public art using the timeless technique of crocheting.

Direct your eyes skyward for Tofer Chin's mural, 2 Corners (Black), on the Lido Deck. Chin creates minimalist geometric paintings, sculptures, and photographs that incorporate his observations of urban and natural landscapes, from the architectural facades in São Paulo to the rock formations of Utah’s Bryce Canyon National Park.

Ahol, whose instantly recognizable street murals dissolve the line between high and low art, has worked his magic yet again in our Spa stairway. Using his signature drowsy eyes motif, the South Florida native further explores his vision of life, labor, and unrequited love.
