Late Night Sobremesa with Ife Ogunjobi

On Friday January 31st, we have the pleasure of hosting jazz & afrobeats artist Ife Ogunjobi for another round of Late Night Sobremesa in Decimo. To start off the new year on the right note(s), we plan to have an evening filled with flowing tacos and margaritas, paired perfectly with an energetic dance floor.

We caught up with Ife about music, life and the relationship between music, food & dining with friends. Scroll down to find out more.
If you had to pick one song to play at a dinner party, what would it be?

Ojuelegba by Wizkid.

Do you have any thoughts on the relationship Between music and dining?

It's beautiful that a good track selection can set the tone when cooking or eating a nice meal but instrumental music doesn't have to soundtrack a fancy restaurant, the music can be the main dish itself.

You're hosting your friends at home. What are your must-have essentials? Can be food, drinks, music, and item, etc.

Dark Rum, Hennessy or Whiskey, to set the tone.

What can guests expect from your Late Night Sobremesa Set?

A night full of energy. Don’t eat too much because I want to dance hard!

If you were to host a dinner party with those who have inspired you, who is invited?

Kano, Wizkid, Burna Boy, Yinka Ayefele, Erykah Badu, Lianne La Havas and Gaetan Judd.
