Last night, Marc Jacobs’ cult literary outpost BOOKMARC touched down at The Standard, London for a six-month residency inside The Library Lounge. To start this new chapter, we kicked things off with a night that felt like a ’90s fever dream.
Legendary hairstylist Sam McKnight sat in conversation with iconic fashion photographer and filmmaker Pamela Hanson, whose new book Pamela Hanson: The 90s had guests lining up for signed copies. The book catalogs her most memorable shots from a decade we'll never stop referencing, cross-referencing and drooling over. The room was packed with a who’s who from fashion and culture: Beth Ditto, Griffin, David Downton, Julia Restoin-Rotfield, Mary Greenwell, Lucinda Chambers, Cecilia Chancellor, Margot Bowman and more.
Throught the fall/winter season, BOOKMARC will fill the Library Lounge with handpicked volumes covering art, fashion, music and classic literature—straight from Marc’s NYC shelves to London. Its famed outpost on Bleecker Street offers a literary portal into the legendary designer's mind, and our London collab is on the same page. Stay tuned for our lineup of talks, signings and special events to follow, including a November evening with the incomparable Anna Sui.
