Body Work: Meet Our Star Wellness Practitioner in the Maldives

Applying holistic therapy and a fusion of modern and traditional muscle treatments, Ranjith Saj is here to clear your mind and relax your body.
Ranjith Saj has been all around the world, experiencing and working with all types of cultures, environments and people, from India to Seychelles to Vietnam. While everyone’s issues and needs vary, there’s one connector between all these places and things: we’ve all got noisy brains and achy muscles.

Fear not, Ranjith is here to clear your mind and relax your body with a dynamic menu of treatments and workshops at The Standard Spa at The Standard, Maldives. With a residency from October 6 - November 15, this star wellness practitioner will share his passion for and expertise of holistic wellness, employing extensive treatments with simple tools including bamboo and medicated oils. 

Certified in India, Ranjith inherited a knowledge and love of Kerala Ayurvedic traditions from his family, and has since applied it to over 15 years of practice within luxury branded hotels, resorts and spas around the planet. His practices, methods and philosophy transcend time and place, providing him a unique ability to communicate with people from all cultures. As we’re a colorful, global mix here at The Standard, Maldives, Ranjith fits perfectly into our spa program and Standard Family, and we’re thrilled to have him.

Muscle Energy Balance 
Personalized de-stress treatment designed to release stiffness and knots from the muscles, using a medicated oil in combination with Thai stretches and deep balance massage to restore and rebalance energy. 
Kerala Ayurveda Massage 
Rhythmic motions to strengthen the lymphatic system and open the flow of life force to cleanse and revitalize the body, activating all vital points, increasing blood circulation to relieve anxiety, fatigue, stress, depression, arthritis, body aches and more. 
Warm Bamboo Massage Therapy 
Rolling and kneading bamboo sticks to calm and energize, promoting full-body circulation, sensory nerve perception, and lymphatic drainage to reduce muscle tension and relieve pain.

Head & Brain Detox 
Detoxing therapy to reduce brain noise and strengthen the mind while relieving congestion, headaches, migraines, a stiff neck, as well as fatigue, insomnia, and stress.  
Foot Reflexology 
Massage applying different amounts of pressure to the feet, hands and ears – reflexes connected to vital organs and body systems - to keep ‘qi’ flowing and keep the body balanced and disease-free.
