IN (& OUT OF) THE BOX: Artist Bert Rodriguez Documents His Move to LA

The ambiguously clothed box girl in Bert Rodriguez' Hollywood Installation

In the Box ... We've been following Bert Rodriguez's artistic hijinks in Miami for years and when we heard that he was moving to Los Angeles, we couldn't resist asking him to do an installation in The Box at The Standard, Hollywood. The man didn't disappoint. The Installation is flawless with just the right amount of cheek. And by cheek we mean literal flesh as the translucent glass lends the impression that the lovely lounging lady has forgotten her clothing. "But is she really naked?" teenaged boys across Los Angeles County inquire. We'll never tell.

And out ... We asked Bert how he's settling in to his new city and he responded in kind with this wonderful photo journal illustrating his first three months in The City of Angels. Always interesting to see what catches the fresh eye. From the looks of it, he seems to be settling exceptionally well ...

Bert Rodriguez' installation in The Box at The Standard, Hollywood will be on display through the end of this month. A closing reception will be held, Thursday, July 26th, click here for details.
