Poetry is Gay x Girls Carrying Shit presents PIG Recital

Bushwick’s premiere poetry salon brings its talents to The Plaza at Standard, High Line for an intimate and festive evening of poetry and play.

Poetry is Gay is a bi-weekly poetry writing salon at Harlequin Vintage run by Brooke Finegold aimed at bringing together members of the queer community together through poetry.

On this special night, Piglets, as they call themselves, will be sharing their original works of poetry at the very first PIG Recital. Prior attendance to PIG is not required, and new friends are highly encouraged to come share their work.

This event is in celebration of Women’s History Month and in collaboration with @girlscarryingshit and Pinky Mag as our theme explores the emotional and physical burdens women carry.

Our theme and prompt for the evening is “Girls Carrying Shit”

Attire: Dress to impress yourself

The evening will begin with a collaborative typewriter poem led by our hostess, Brooke Finegold, assisted by Halle of @girlscarryingshit followed by three minute slots for poets to read their piece(s).

Sign ups for the show will be done in person, beginning at 7pm during our happy hour. The show will begin at 8pm.

You do not need to be queer or a woman to attend, but honey it doesn’t hurt!
