Welcome to The Gallery!

Experience a rare look inside the most popular club of the early '70s, The Gallery. NYC disco pioneer Nicky Siano shares two uncut exclusive clips from his film "Love Is The Message," which you can screen at The Standard Spa, Miami Beach on March 21st at 7pm in celebration of the Winter Music Conference.
Entering The Gallery

NICKY SIANO:
"The documentary was actually filmed at the club in 1976. The breathtaking footage is nothing short of spectacular considering the visuals are real, not recreations or reenactments. Without cell phones or video cameras, the scarcity of 16mm film of this magnitude, directed by Jim Bidgood (Pink Narcissus), gives you a rare look at actual clothing, motions, dance moves, and environments of a time almost 50 years in the past."
Leaving The Gallery

"This clip was provided before synching the sound. Film was created with a camera (for video) and a tape deck (for audio), recording each modality separately and synching them later in the editing bay. This gives the filmmaker greater control over the elements, and the intrusion of sounds is off set. The clip shows people leaving the Gallery at 7:30am, and we see Houston Street at Mercer with Broadway in the background, showing the stark changes New York City has sustained over the years."
On Wednesday, March 21, at at 7pm, The Standard Spa, Miami Beach presents Love Is The Message followed by a Q&A with Nicky Siano and legendary NYC producer Jellybean Benitez. Spend a night looking inside the seminal club The Gallery.
