Ahead of Frieze New York 2023, join us at The Standard, East Village for a panel exploring fresh, transformative approaches to the world of art advising. The conversation will include the unique perspectives of advisors Nazy Nazhand and Maria Vogel and visual artist Zoë Buckman, with writer Annie Armstrong as a moderator. 

Moderator: Annie Armstrong is a New York-based journalist on the contemporary art beat. She's been published with the New York Times and New York Magazine among many others, and currently writes Artnet News' cult-hit gossip column, Wet Paint.

Panelists:

  • Nazy Nazhand: Nazy Nazhand is a New York City based art advisor, creative consultant, writer and the founder of Nazhand Art & Culture. Known for discovering and supporting artists who examine the complex socio-political and technological developments of our time, Nazhand's independent practice explores the confluence of visual arts with other fields such as music, film, architecture and civic engagement.
  • Maria Vogel: Maria Vogel’s experience in the art world covers almost every corner, from blue-chip and emerging galleries to institutions and start-ups. She is the founder of Rococo, an advisory that looks beyond transactions to emphasize storytelling and interconnectedness. Vogel regularly contributes to many of the art world’s top publications, including Cultured Magazine and Artnet. With all of her work, Vogel is a conduit to further the stories of artists.
  • Zoë Buckman: Zoë Buckman is a multi-disciplinary artist working in sculpture, installation, and photography, exploring themes of Feminism, mortality, and equality. Buckman’s work is included in the permanent collections of The National Portrait Gallery, London, The Rose Art Museum, Brandeis University, The Chrysler Museum Virginia, and The Studio Museum in Harlem. She currently lives and works in Brooklyn, NY.
