Their rip-roaring odyssey leads them through various subcultures of Los Angeles. This 2015 film was shot entirely on iPhone 5s.

THE FITS

The Fits (2015) is a psychological portrait of 11-year-old Toni—a tomboy assimilating to a tight-knit dance team in Cincinnati’s West End. Enamored by the power and confidence of this strong community of girls, Toni eagerly absorbs routines, masters drills, and even pierces her own ears to fit in. When a mysterious outbreak of fainting spells plagues the team, Toni’s desire for acceptance is twisted.

HEAVEN KNOWS WHAT

Heaven Knows What (2014) is an intense, gritty drama starring Arielle Holmes, and is based on Arielle Holmes' unpublished memoir of her life as a homeless heroin addict living on the streets of New York City. She was spotted panhandling by director Josh Safdie, who developed her story into the film. Holmes' boyfriend, a character in the film played by Caleb Landry Jones, died of an overdose in Central Park in April 2015, and this film is dedicated to him.
