F&B Runner

Department: Food and Beverage

Reporting to: Food and Beverage Managers, Kitchen Management, Property Chef, and Director of Food and Beverage

 

Job Purpose

The Food and Beverage Runner is responsible for full-process ticket expediting, from assisting with firing dishes in the kitchen and plating to delivering finished dishes to guest tables. The Food and Beverage Runner will also be responsible for supporting the main dining floors during food service hours. The Food and Beverage Expeditor will also be responsible for performing side work for FOH, replenishing FOH stock and clearing bus bins, preparing mise-en-place, and any other duties designated as necessary by the manager on duty.

 

Duties & Responsibilities

·         Accurate and consistent firing of order tickets to the culinary team

·         Assist with plating/finishing food dishes

·         Running of food dishes from the kitchen to guest tables

·         Run all IRD orders and ensure they are correct and completed according to steps of service

·         Assist with the restocking of FOH spaces, including dishware, China, glass, and silverware

·         Assist on the floor in the main dining spaces; clearing tables, wiping down tables, resetting tables for tables turns

·         Assist with clearing bus bins and glass racks from FOH spaces

·         Assist the events team with setting up the F&B stations for service, maintaining cleanliness of spaces and stations, also the breakdown of the F&B service stations.

·         Replenishing service items in service station areas, plates, silverware, glassware in

·         Assist kitchen staff with mise-en-place setup and replenishment

·         Assist with maintenance of back-of-house storage and stock rooms as required by management

·         Properly bag all garbage and prepare for pick-up

·         Provide a level of service consistent with established standards in every aspect

·         Perform other duties as requested by the manager


Qualifications & Requirements

·         Understanding: Ability to read, comprehend and carry out instructions according to established procedures

·         Comprehension: Listening comprehension and basic communication in the English language

·         Organizational Skills: Work efficiently, utilize multi-tasking, prioritize tasks

·         Hygiene and Sanitation: Adherence to uniform, grooming, personal hygiene standards and expectations per SOPs as well as all COVID-related hygiene protocol

·         Punctuality: Adherence to posted schedule and arrival time and attendance at mandatory meetings when scheduled

·         Responsibility: Personal comportment in line with Standard, New York policies, standards, and expectations

·         Willingness to learn and adapt

 

Physical Requirements

·         Able to work standing for a minimum period of 8 hours a day

·         Periodical bending, kneeling, and stretching

·         Able to pull, push, carry, and lift at least 50 pounds

·         Must be able to seize, grasp, turn, and hold objects with hands


Desirable

·         Multi-lingual

·         Previous work experience in a similar area
