Pool Runner

Our pool is an extension of the guest experience; laid-back, stylish, and service-driven. Pool Runners play a key role in ensuring food service is seamless, timely, and elevated throughout the pool deck.
The Pool Runner supports the pool’s Food & Beverage operations by efficiently delivering food from the kitchen to the pool area, assisting servers, maintaining service areas, and ensuring guest tables are clean, organized, and stocked at all times. This position acts as a critical liaison between the kitchen and service team to ensure smooth communication, proper timing, and a high level of guest satisfaction.
Efficiently deliver food from the kitchen to the pool in accordance with service standards
Clean, set, and reset poolside tables, trays, and service areas throughout service
Ensure guest tables are maintained at all times to meet cleanliness and presentation standards
Assist servers by supporting food delivery, table maintenance, and guest needs
When needed, describe food items to guests when presenting dishes
Act as a liaison between the kitchen and service staff regarding food timing, menu items, and special requests
Work closely with servers and kitchen staff to ensure proper pacing and flow of service
Set up and break down the expediting station as needed
Polish silverware, trays, and glassware in service stations and kitchen areas throughout the shift
Assist with setting tables using napkins, condiments, and approved poolside service items
Maintain cleanliness and organization of runner stations and service pathways
Perform other duties as assigned to support pool and F&B operations
High school diploma or equivalent preferred
Previous experience as a runner, busser, or support role in a restaurant, pool, beach club, or hotel environment preferred
Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced, outdoor service environment
Strong communication skills and ability to work collaboratively with kitchen and service teams
Knowledge of food handling and basic menu awareness preferred
Professional demeanor aligned with The Standard’s service culture
State-approved food handling and alcohol handling certification required (training provided if needed)
Ability to stand and walk for extended periods (up to 8 hours per shift)
Ability to lift, carry, push, or pull up to 40 pounds
Frequent bending, reaching, kneeling, and carrying trays
Comfortable working outdoors in varying temperatures and weather conditions
Ability to navigate tight service areas safely and efficiently
