Director of Programming & Culture
Job Purpose:
The
Director of Programming & Culture will be responsible for activating the
property for brand awareness, programming the different venues and creating
opportunities for partnerships. This role will work closely with the Marketing,
Design, Events, Music and Operations teams and the corporate office with a
direct report to the property’s General Manager. This position will ensure that
the Vision, Integrity and Consistency of the brand is maintained in the
programming throughout the property. To
connect and retain relationships across creative communities. Establish
cultural relevance and drive brand awareness with the local, domestic and
international communities. Build a bridge between corporate team and Bangkok
property to create opportunities for activations and pop ups. Establish The
Standard as the #1 destination for both local and international residents and
beyond. The Director of Programming & Culture is the key brand ambassador
for the property.
Duties & Responsibilities:
- Curate on-brand cultural programming and activations in relation to Art, Design, Fashion, Music & Entertainment, F&B, Film, Wellness, Sports & Fitness for hotel guests and Bangkok’s local community and be present at all key cultural activations/programming.
- Create at least one key cultural activation/programming every month. Ensure continuous programming and events to perpetuate interest and traffic of a varied target audience for the brand and property.
- Support multiple F&B and Music programming - add input on the culture/creative ideas, extend partnerships outreach, bring in the right crowd and participate in the programming/activations when needed, and enhance F&B revenue.
- Responsible for ad-hoc events/activations when there're good partnerships opportunities with the right brands and collaborators.
- Establish and utilize local connections and international outreach within creative communities (Art, Design, Fashion, Film, Music & Entertainment, F&B etc.) and able to identify like-minded collaborators and partners to develop partnerships for activations and programming.
- Monitor and manage the budget of cultural programming and activations effectively.
- Bring in local and international creative crowd in Art, Fashion, Design, F&B, Music and Entertainment etc. Able to identify the right KOLs/influencers for each event/activation to create voice and awareness for the brand and property.
- Ensuring a commendable guest attendance for all events and activations. Social networking to establish a loyal and core guest list for the property.
- Work closely with all departments, Production, Ops, Music, Marketing, Corporate etc., to ensure successful execution of events, parties, activations and programming.
- Oversee important activations/events during execution, to ensure guests experience and satisfaction.
- Responsible for communicating event details to relevant departments, ensuring necessary cooperation.
- Attend and lead weekly Culture Call.
- Maintain strong passion in Art, Design, Fashion, F&B, Music & Entertainment, Wellness. Attends Social and Cultural events outside of the workplace to create and develop opportunities and relationships.
- Develop and maintain strong rapport with all departments and outlets of the hotel.
- Understand, develop and maintain the identity of the Standard brand in programming efforts.
- Use keen discretion and confidentiality at all times while handling continually arising challenges.
- Knowledge and understanding of Marketing and PR practices and values and conduct work in alignment to these standards.
- Providing all required information for promotion of events for Marketing teams
- Drive database acquisition and grow number of VIPs through activations and programming efforts.
- Generate press and content for social media platforms.
- Any other required tasks in relation to cultural programming and activations as assigned by General Manager and the leadership team of Standard Asia
