For five weeks only, Brooklyn institution Best Pizza is taking over Double Standard, bringing New York's neighbourhood pizzeria culture to King's Cross.
Founded by Frank Pinello in Williamsburg in 2010, Best Pizza has become one of New York's most celebrated slice shops, serving its signature pies from a century-old wood-burning oven. Now, for the first time in London, it's crossing the Atlantic for an exclusive residency at Double Standard.
Expect legendary 14" pies including the iconic Margherita, White Pie and Marinara, alongside the restaurant's beloved Grandma and Veggie square slices. Exclusively for The Standard, London, Frank has also created the Soppressata Coppola—a pizza you'll only find here at The Standard, London.
And it's not just about the pizza. Alongside the slices, there's a spread of Stuzzichini, from sautéed long hot peppers and pickled aubergine to caponata and anchovy with Calabrian chilli, all ready for piling onto your pie. Wash it all down with a selection of award-winning beers from independent London brewery Two Tribes, before finishing with classic tiramisu and a Hugo Spritz (or two).
