More Things To Do This Week


MoMA has invited Marin Karmitz, the legendary French film producer with 110 films under his belt, to curate a selection of his favorite films. Kamitz has programmed a two week lineup that includes Alain Resnais' Mélo, Krzysztof Kieślowski's Three Colors Trilogy: Blue, White, and Red. He has also included a number of non-French titles like Gus Van Sant's Paranoid Park.

The LA Film Fest is celebrating its 20th anniversary of providing LA with a diverse slate of features, shorts and music video from all around the world. To celebrate, the festival is launching a new section called LA Muse, that focuses on the city as a source of inspiration for filmmakers and artists worldwide.

Nathan Sawaya's parents told him at the age of 10 that they wouldn't allow him to get a dog. So, he built one, a life-size one, out of Legos. Now, he is opening a new exhibition of LEGO sculptures at the Art & Culture Center of Hollywood called, In Pieces. Sawaya collaborated with Australian photographer, Dean West, to create a highly stylized representation of contemporary life through large-scale photography.
