For almost 10 years, our OG property, The Standard, Hollywood, has been home to a weekly stripped down live music series, “Desert Nights” curated by KCRW DJ Valida. The evening was designed to capture the spirit of the 60s and 70s Laurel Canyon music culture, when Joni Mitchell, Crosby Stills and Nash, Neil Young, Frank Zappa, The Mamas and the Papas, and others reigned supreme. Over the years, the night embraced other genres, including jazz, blues, electronica…but the legends of the canyon still watch and judge from above.
While the hotel is closed, DJ Valida took to @DesertNightsMusic Instagram for "IG Live Cozy-ntine Sessions", which have been broadcasting each Wednesday since April 15th. Would you like to be featured at Desert Nights? Well then, keep reading, cuz you’re in luck!
