Isla restaurant and terrace is an indoor-outdoor garden oasis with a Modern British & European menu of seasonal small plates, minimal-intervention wines, and inventive cocktails, and The Library Lounge is our cosiest corner, and a hub for our music and cultural programming.
We are now looking for a dynamic individual to join our Isla restaurant as a Waiter/Waitress.
Your role
As a Isla Waiter/Waitress at The Standard, you will become part of an exceptional restaurant team. You will therefore need to be passionate about service and very well organised, with a strong working knowledge of restaurant and bar operations and the order of service.
You will also need to be knowledgeable about and interested in great wines and food to confidently guide our guests and enhance their experience. You will therefore need to be enthusiastic about learning (with new wines and seasonal dishes), highly social, upbeat, and friendly; confident and able to handle pressure well; thrive in a busy high-volume, high-energy environment and manage multiple tasks and guests with ease.

- Prior experience as a Waiter/Waitress with the ability to engage and connect with a wide range of guests from different backgrounds, ideally gained in a similar ‘Lifestyle’ boutique hotel or high-quality restaurant
- Confidence in guest experience, restaurant operations, and the order of service
- Knowledgeable and interested in wine (relevant qualifications such as WSET are a plus), as well as great food
- Highly social, motivated and pro-active; acting with professionalism and positivity in all interactions
- Flair for service and the ability to build genuine relationships with guests
- Available full-time and fully flexible Monday – Sunday, as well as able to work late-night (Thurs-Sat, 2am)
- In addition to those with experience we are actively seeking candidates with a diverse range of lifestyle skills and welcome applications from those in the arts, music and entertainment industries
