Recently voted as one of London's Top 100 Restaurants; acclaimed Chef Peter Sanchez-Iglesias merges the Spanish cuisine of his family with his love of Mexico for his debut London restaurant, Decimo. Expect lots of flavour – aquachile (Mexican ceviche), suckling pig shoulder, vegan paella and a new take on tacos with a dramatically different tortilla. Situated on the 10th floor of The Standard, London, Decimo features two separate bar areas, main restaurant which showcases live fire cooking and two semi private dining spaces; with floor-to-ceiling windows and roof terraces providing dramatic views across the London skyline.
We are defined by our richness of personality, diversity of background and lifestyle and are now looking for a Chef De Partie to join our Decimo Kitchen team and capture the very essence of this culinary destination.
Your role
As a Chef de Partie at The Standard, London, you will become part of an exceptional culinary and kitchen team that will provide an extensive food service across our Decimo Restaurant.
You will oversee a dedicated section in the kitchen supported by a small section team. Most importantly you will oversee service delivery and monitor food quality for your section serving over 200 covers a night at this rooftop destination. You will of course be passionate about cooking, with an exceptional working knowledge of kitchen operations and order of service; along with a deep appreciation of quality food and proven knowledge of production and cooking techniques.
You will of course be passionate about cooking, with an exceptional working knowledge of kitchen operations, and your extensive knowledge of the latest food trends and London restaurant scene will help you create an environment where you will not only delight our guest, but also excite and surprise them to create the ultimate culinary experience in this open kitchen with live fire cooking, that is anything but Standard! Prior experience of preparing Spanish or Mexican cuisine is preferred!
You will also support the management of the Kitchen from the daily sourcing of ingredients, development and production of dishes, control of products, stock control and management of food cost, food hygiene and HACCP for your section.

Do you have what it takes to be a Chef de Partie at The Standard, London
This is not a ‘Standard’ Chef De Partie position, so you will need to have miles and miles of personality and stamina, be highly social, upbeat and friendly; confident and can handle pressure well; thrive in a high-volume, high-energy environment and able to work equally well both independently and as part of a team.
In addition to this you will also need….
- A minimum of 3 years prior experience, with at least 1 year as a Chef De Partie / Senior Chef De Partie is essential and should have been ideally gained in a similar large scale destination restaurant or wider hospitality business.
- Experience of working with Spanish &/or Mexican Cuisine and Live Fire Cooking is a plus
- Have excellent people skills and prior experience of managing a section across a busy, high volume restaurant service
- Have Strong organisational skills and commercial acumen in order to manage inventory in order to minimise wastage.
- Hold professional culinary & food safety qualifications to a minimum of level 2
