For DWARMIS founder Dwarmis Concepción, TIERRA explores origin as something both physical and carried. Inspired by dust and water as raw materials, the collection reflects on how elements combine to become moldable and enduring, shaped by hands, pressure, and time. Responsive, tactile, and shape-holding, fabrics behave like clay, emphasizing construction built through method rather than spectacle. Layered silhouettes and disciplined tailoring define the collection, with garments designed to evolve through daily wear. A restrained palette of clay tones, washed aquas, black, white, and mineral yellow reinforce a sense of grounding and continuity.
With rich wood, ambient lighting, and natural hues, Cuna Bar & Lounge at The Standard, East Village effortlessly complemented DWARMIS’s vision. The tonal warmth of the space mirrored the collection’s earth-inspired palette, creating a seamless dialogue between environment and garment. Together, they formed a cohesive visual language rooted in texture, materiality, and intention.
"Cuna felt aligned with TIERRA from the beginning because it’s a space centered around transformation and gathering. The collection explores matter before form; how dust and water become something moldable, something shaped by hand, and Cuna carries that same energy of process and tactility."
TIERRA embodies the DWARMIS woman: informed by many places, grounded in the rhythm of New York, and always evolving. After years in the fashion industry, Dwarmis Concepcion founded her namesake brand to reflect a personal point of view rooted in elegance, ease, and intention. As a Dominican Republic native, she produces small capsule collections locally in New York, remaining closely involved at every stage while supporting local NYC and Latinx communities.
That ethos aligns naturally with Cuna’s own values. A Mexican-inspired concept guided by the rhythm of New York, Cuna is a celebration of culture, craft, and community—where heritage meets the pace of the city. Hosting TIERRA within its walls felt like a shared expression of identity: Caribbean warmth, Latin roots, and downtown energy converging in one space.
