Last night, The Standard, with newlyweds Idris and Sabrina Elba, celebrated the 2019 Met Gala with an epic afterparty at Top of The Standard.
The evening was full of impromptu performances and unforgettable moments, starting with a surprise performance by Lizzo on top of the iconic gold bar; she got the crowd dancing and singing to her hits ‘Juice’ and ‘Tempo’. Next up, Idris Elba grabbed the mic giving a rendition of his new track, Boasty, in the DJ booth alongside A$AP Ferg, while Celine Dion shimmied across the floor to join in the party!
Honoring Donatella’s recent birthday, Idris and Edward Enninful surprised the designer, showering her with cake and tequila shots while Rita Ora and Sabrina Elba sang happy birthday atop the bar!
After midnight guests enjoyed burgers and fries while Idris, Sabrina, DJ D-Nice and ASAP Ferg continued to hit the decks, followed by jump-up moments from Slick Rick, and the legendary Chris Rock.
Michael B Jordan hopped on the DJ booth one last time to celebrate Idris and Sabrina’s nuptials with a wedding toast. Katy Perry then joined the couple on the mic, in full glittering hamburger attire.
“It was such an honor to host this year’s Met Gala afterparty with The Standard… the Met Gala is such an iconic event with a strong heritage of championing both art and fashion,” said host Sabrina Elba. “I think we can safely say we gave this year’s theme “CAMP: Notes on Fashion” the afterparty it deserved!”
This year marks the 10th annual legendary Met Gala celebration at Top of The Standard; cheers to 10 more!
