Picture It: International Women's Day

On International Women's Day, powerful women struck a pose for Girls Who Shoot at The Standard, East Village.
If a picture's worth a thousand words, Girls Who Shoot shot thousands of words at The Standard, East Village for International Women's Day. The NYC-based photography collective (founded by Flordalis Espinal) held court in The Penthouse, overlooking a beautiful March day in Manhattan. Flordalis posted a contest-style ask to her network to find a photographer to capture the occasion, and selected Sarai Garcia. Women dropped by to have their complimentary portraits taken, share stories and mark the global celebration. (And to look their very, very best in Sarai's snaps!)

We gave the attendees a simple prompt: You're hosting a dinner party and can invite three powerful women—living or not, real or imagined—who's on the list? Unsurprisingly, names like Oprah, Michelle Obama and Rihanna sprang to mind.

Here are some of their portraits, and some of their answers.
