Miami came ready to mingle as Eddie Huang brought his new rom-com book Come Undone to The Standard Spa, Miami Beach for an evening of speed dating, unexpected conversation and, if one little birdie is to be believed, a few successful matches.
The evening opened with a panel discussion introducing Eddie and his wife, Natashia, before Eddie welcomed the crowd with a few jokes and words of wisdom that set the tone and loosened everyone up.
Facilitated by Stephanie Pineda, founder of local meetup group Amigos Meet, the night began with signature cocktails and casual mixing before guests settled in for a series of quick dates. The new Come Undone conversation deck, created by The Standard in partnership with Eddie, helped everyone skip the small talk and get straight to something more interesting.
Some conversations clicked immediately. Others made for a good story. Between rounds, guests grabbed ice cream sandwiches from Banana Daddy, returned to the bar, and lined up to meet Eddie and have their copy of Come Undone personalized.
Equal parts dating experiment, poolside party and celebration of Eddie’s new book, the night brought our global partnership to Miami and its shared belief in authentic connection to life. Romance was optional. Coming undone was encouraged.
