TheirStories: An Evening with The Pink Singers
TheirStories: An Evening with The Pink Singers
TheirStories is back at The Standard, London, presenting an evening with Europe’s longest running LGBTQ+ choir, The Pink Singers
Founded in 1983 as a lesbian and gay choir, today the Pink Singers are an LGBTQ+ ensemble and the oldest mixed queer choir in Europe, numbering over 80 singers from a wide range of identities, and a powerhouse in the queer choral community. The choir has just celebrated their 40th anniversary with the release of a podcast series about their incredible history, Sing It Pink, and an album of archive recordings, Hope Machine.
The Pink Singers will take over The Library Lounge for one night only, with a panel discussion chaired by Tash Walker, exploring the rich history of the choir and the diverse stories of some of its members. This will be followed by a very special performance featuring a 24 voice ensemble, in the first choral performance ever to be hosted in The Library Lounge at The Standard, London.
For this very special edition, TheirStories curator Laurie Belgrave has handed over the reins to Aunt Nell, the creators of the award winning The Log Books podcast, who will be hosting the event.
Join us in The Library Lounge for a one off evening of queer intergenerational performance & conversation - not to be missed.

TheirStories is an intergenerational LGBTQ+ platform & event series, created to investigate, celebrate and uplift the diverse narratives and stories of the UK’s vibrant LGBTQ+ community, with talks, performances, cultural moments and music. Curated by Laurie Belgrave, founder of The Chateau, and currently resident at The Standard, London, these nourishing conversations between generations of queer creatives, artists & humxns provide a much needed space for learning, reflection and connection, for both the queer community, and allies looking to educate themselves on queer issues. TheirStories values and celebrates our history, contextualising our existence with the stories of the queer people who came before us.
