They're not regular moms. They're cool moms.
For four days this spring, Cuna's Private Dining Room at The Standard, East Village became home to The Sticky Stuff: A Motherhood Archive, a public exhibition by Spread the Jelly that invited visitors to rethink the cultural narrative around motherhood.
Founded by creative director Lauren Levinger and internationally renowned DJ and creative entrepreneur Amrit Tietz, Spread the Jelly is a modern motherhood platform built around honest storytelling, community, and the beautifully messy realities of raising children. Their work challenges outdated stereotypes, making room for conversations that are nuanced, stylish, and refreshingly real.
Installed in our versatile Private Dining Room within Cuna, the exhibition unfolded as an immersive archive featuring rare books, vintage magazines, first editions, photography, personal ephemera, and out-of-print materials tracing generations of motherhood. Equal parts research library and art installation, it explored how mothers have been represented—and how those stories continue to evolve.
Ahead of the public opening, mothers, artists, and creatives gathered at Cuna for an intimate preview dinner, getting the first look at the archive over a shared meal before the doors opened to the public.
To close out the week, the energy moved outdoors for Storytime Worldwide on The Garden Terrace. In collaboration with Spiral Books, mothers read children's stories in ten languages while families gathered for a morning of books, conversation, and play. A vintage kids' market curated with Cosmo and Hunter & Gather rounded out the activation, transforming the space into a downtown celebration of motherhood that felt just as much for the cool moms as it was for their little ones.
