At the cultural heart-beat of The Standard are our team who bring to life our spaces, engage with our guests and vibrate social energy, day and night across our bars, restaurants, event and guest spaces. We are defined by our richness of personality, diversity of background and lifestyle and are now looking for a Barista to join our Breakfast team who will embody our ‘Anything but Standard’ ethos.

Your role

As a Barista at The Standard, London, you will become part of our exceptional Breakfast team. You will be passionate about service, very well organised with exceptional barista skills, and have a good working knowledge of our bar and restaurant operations.

You will have a deep appreciation for coffee and our beverage offering, be highly social, upbeat and friendly, confident and able to handle pressure well, and thrive in a busy, high-volume, high-energy environment, managing multiple tasks with ease.

With 266 bedrooms at The Standard our Breakfast service is one of our busiest times of the day and you will be part of a dedicated breakfast team who oversee this service. It is of course an early start to ensure all mise en place and station set up is done before the first guests arrive.

Prior experience as a Barista is essential for this role. You will also have an uncompromised and natural flair for service and be able to build genuine relationships with guests. You will also need…

  • Prior experience as a Barista with the ability to engage and connect with a wide range of guests from different backgrounds, ideally gained in a similar ‘Lifestyle’ boutique hotel, or destination fine dining or high-quality restaurant
  • Confident barista skills with a proven knowledge of drinks, well versed in preparing and serving hot and cold drinks such as coffee, tea, artisan and speciality beverages.
  • Relevant bartender experience or qualifications such as WSET are advantageous but not essential
  • Available full-time with full flexibility to work Monday–Sunday, able to start as early as 6AM and finish at 4PM
  • In addition to those with experience we are actively seeking candidates with a diverse range of lifestyle skills and welcome applications from those in the arts, music and entertainment industries.
  • Prior experience using squirrel epos is advantageous however full training will be given
