This summer, The Garden at The Standard, East Village is transformed through a joyful takeover with designs by Yinka Ilori, the British-Nigerian artist and designer known as the "Architect of Joy."

Inspired by the sun as a symbol of warmth, optimism, and togetherness, Chasing The Sun invites guests to gather, connect, and celebrate the golden energy of summer. Through Yinka's vibrant visual world, The Garden becomes an open-air summer escape where radiant color, creative expression, and sunlit joy come together. A celebration of brighter days, meaningful connections, and the unmistakable pleasure of moments shared under the sun.

For the season, The Garden is reimagined as a sunny destination for long afternoons and golden-hour aperitivos, where playful design meets champagne and an all-day menu of summer favorites. Sip Veuve Clicquot by the glass or bottle, enjoy seasonal cocktails and shareable plates, and settle into a space designed to celebrate the simple pleasure of chasing the sun.

On Saturdays, the atmosphere comes alive with live DJs spinning from 2pm-7pm, setting the soundtrack for sun-soaked afternoons that seamlessly stretch into golden hour.

Open to hotel guests, locals, and four-legged friends alike, Chasing The Sun welcomes reservations and walk-ins for afternoons that effortlessly stretch into evenings through Sunday, August 9th.
