Hidden somewhere inside The Standard, Monterrey Bar keeps things interesting.
Start with something stirred, smoky, or spirit-forward, then stay awhile. The kitchen leans savory and a little indulgent. Think crispy rice topped with spicy hamachi, bao piled high with soft shell crab, or a karaage chicken sando that somehow hits even harder after your second cocktail.
On Fridays from 6–9PM, resident tarot reader Reno takes a seat at the bar for Tarot After Dark. Pull a card, sip something good, and see what the night has in store.
Monterrey pays homage to the original Monterrey Motel, which opened here in 1953—when Miami Beach was a little wilder and a lot more interesting.
