Crowd #3 (Pelican Beach), 2013
Alex Prager creates familiar yet strange scenes, using the collective emotions of crowds, and hundreds of actors whose characters, hairstyles, clothing, and poses are each meticulously planned. A sense of timelessness exists due to the ambiguity of era and location, though cultural references from classic Hollywood cinema abound. This exhibit is Prager's debut show since joining Lehmann Maupin gallery in September 2013.

Art Deco and Miami go together like sand and beach. Although post-Deco technically, The Standard Spa, Miami Beach, formerly the Lido Spa Hotel, formerly the Monterrey Motel and Yacht Club, represents the pinnacle of Resort Modernism, or Miami Modernism so joyfully celebrated in Art Deco at Play at The Miami Design Preservation League.
