New York - High Line, NYC Banquet Manager - Special Events

      We’re looking for a Special Events Operations Manager that is responsible for assisting the Regional Director of Marketing and team with updating online content, including all social media sites, The Standard Hotel website and local campaigns. Manage booking and execution of all photo shoots and sending internal communication/updates to Intranet. The role also involves curating and cultivating partnerships and managing programming events.

      Has 2+ years of experience in NYC banquet and events service supervision and/or management 

      Is knowledgeable about multiple different food and beverage service styles and presentations.

      Duties and Responsibilities:

      Maintain complete knowledge of:

      • scheduled daily events
      • event times/schedules (including staff in-times, breaks, etc.)
      • housemen daily schedule/ expected duties and setups for daily and future functions
      • daily activities of both active and non-active function spaces (i.e. sunset, rest reservations, etc)., & plan daily activities and setups accordingly.

      Oversee all special events activities to meet the expectations of client and hotel standards in terms of appearance, set-up, service, and food quality.

      Oversee activities of staff, including captains, servers, bartenders, bussers, and housemen.

      Coach captains, servers, bartenders, and bussers through daily functions to train, retrain, ensure and maintain meeting the expectations of client and hotel standards in terms of appearance, set-up, service and food quality.

      Anticipate guests’ needs, respond promptly and acknowledge all guests, however busy and whatever time of day.

      Ensure staff and management maintain positive guest relations at all times.

      Qualifications & Requirements


      1.          High school graduate or equivalent vocational training certificate.
      2.          2+ years in NYC catering/events/banquet supervision or management
      3.          Fluency in English both verbally and non-verbally.
      4.          Excellent communication skills
