Director, Revenue and Distribution (MEAP)

Job Overview:

 

Corp Revenue & Distribution Manager will play a pivotal role in optimizing revenue and ensuring profitability.  Responsible for a wide range of tasks and strategies aimed at maximizing room revenue while maintaining rate parity, ensuring accuracy in audits, managing dynamic connected wholesale accounts, Rate Building and Integrity, assisting with pre-openings, conducting data analysis, monitoring pricing and promotions on all distribution channels, and managing Corporate (SA) rate programs.

 

Duties and Responsibilities:

1.       Corp Revenue Management:

a.       Apply extensive expertise to effectively implement pricing strategies and limitations within the Revenue Management System (RMS) of the brand, recognizing the impact of booking channels on the hotel's profitability.

b.       Enhance the setup of the brand's RMS systems by verifying rate recommendations, validating the accuracy of the system forecasts, and documenting daily entries and analyses of implemented modifications.

c.       Work closely with brand managers to execute the strategy efficiently, scrutinizing crucial brand and property-specific marketing reports to make well-informed choices for revenue improvement.

d.       Maintain the pricing and distribution strategy in the hotel's Property Management System (PMS) and external booking platforms.

e.       Build, execute, and communicate Brand Approved Packages and Promotions. Ensure promotional content is distributed, validated, and understood by field, digital marketing, email, and property and corporate teams.

f.        Create and update weekly revenue strategy report with YOY, Forecast, budgets Forward Plans etc.…

g.       Hotels: Assisting in the development of Hotels Budgets & Participate in Revenue Calls. Analyzing the impact of the revenue management strategies implemented by the Hotels.

h.       Chainwide rate loading (global)

2.       Rate Parity Management:

a.       Monitor rate parity across all distribution channels, including Online travel agencies (OTA), the brand website and various booking platforms.

b.       Work with hotel team to rate shop on channels with rate parity issues to find source of rate, in coordination with Sales team issue violation or termination letter.

c.       Maintain a list of partners that are violating the rate parity and constantly monitor online pricing. 

3.       Audits and Accuracy:

a.       Rate code Audit in PMS and SynXis to ensure standardization across all hotels.

b.       Promotions – Audit promotions and specials loaded on the website to ensure hotel participation and correct text is utilized.

c.       Content – Audit content on brand website and OTA websites to ensure brand standard guidelines are adhered to.

d.       OTA Campaigns and Promotions – Audit and ensure hotel is utilizing the available options to maximize the revenue across all channels.

e.       Bi-annual GDS Audit to ensure all hotel content is accurate and rates are showing correctly.

f.        GDS Audits Bi-Annual

4.       Pre-Openings Assistance:

a.       Assist in revenue management tasks for new hotel openings, including rate setting, distribution strategy, and systems setup.

b.       Help cover the hotel till the on-property revenue management resource is on board.

5.       Data Analysis:

a.       Analyze historical data, market trends, and competitor performance to make informed pricing decisions.

b.       Generate reports and insights for all hotels within the group.

c.       Highlight any variations and errors in data to respective hotels and VP Revenue to ensure apt actions are taken.

6.       OTA Account Relationships:

a.       Second level of relationship with all OTA accounts at the corporate level

b.       Collaborate with OTA’s to optimize visibility and revenue opportunities.

c.       Help on property team on trouble shooting any errors (both rate and content)

d.       Champion OTA extranets

7.       Systems:

a.       Serve as a champion for revenue management systems and tools within the region.

b.       Provide training and ongoing support to the hotel team.

c.       Stay up to date with any advancements in the systems used.

Qualifications, Knowledge, and Skills:

 

·       Bachelor’s degree in hospitality, Business, or a related field preferred not required.

·       Proven 3 years’ experience in revenue management within the hotel industry.

·       Proficiency in revenue management software  (Duetto), Synxis, Rate Gain and tools.

·       Strong analytical and data interpretation skills. - Excellent communication and negotiation abilities.

·       Ability to work in a fast-paced and dynamic environment.

·       Detail-oriented with a focus on accuracy.

·       Strong organizational and time-management skills.
